Mandawa Jetty –
If you want to reach Alibag by sea from Mumbai, you have to come to Mandawa from Mumbai Gateway of India, then you can reach Alibag by road from Mandawa. The Mandawa Jetty was a very small port a few years ago and only a select few boats docked here. But in the last few years, this jetty has expanded a lot. The first major ro-ro service in India has also been launched recently.
Transportation –
From Mandava Jetty, passenger transport from Mumbai to Mandava has been running for a long time. There are many passenger services from Mumbai to Alibag. Recently, a ro-ro service from Mumbai to Alibag has been started. The distance from Alibag to Mumbai is about 3 hours by road and only 90 minutes by sea. Along with the Ro-Ro service, cars and large trains can also come by sea. Many working class people come and go this way every day. During monsoon, however, the service is closed due to inclement weather. A new spacious car park has also been constructed here.
