Alphanso – The king of fruits. Alibaug and its surroundings are home to numerous mango trees, as well as a wide variety of mangoes and flavors. Due to the environment and fertile land of the original Konkan, the authentic Konkan taste has come here, especially to the Alphanso mangoes. In many farms, mangoes are seen cultivated in paddy fields these days.

Generally, the mango tree begins to bloom during the winter, and as the winter progresses, the bloom grows larger and larger. Later small green mango fruits start to appear. These plants start to grow on the frost of winter. Later, as the temperature increases in the atmosphere, these small green mango fruits become bigger.

Generally, mangoes start ripening after March. And then the mangoes are plunked and kept to ripen properly. Alphanso mangoes are specially cared for, and are packed in boxes and taken to the market for sale. Alphanso mangoes are large enough, and are harvested before ripening. Although Alphanso mango is the major and famous variety, many other varieties of mangoes are found in and around Alibaug.

The taste of Alibaug’s Alphanso mangoes is now lingering on everyone’s tongue. For the last 10 to 15 years, cultivation and crop of Alphanso mango has started growing here. As soon as the mangoes are ready, on the way to Alibaug, mango sellers can be seen on both sides.

As the taste of ripe mangoes attracts the gourmets, other foods items produced from Mango are also very popular. Mango, Mango Pickle, Muramba, Amsool, and the world famous Aamras. This is Alibaug’s famous mango that doubles the joy of summer holidays. If you come to Alibaug, you must taste it.
