The real beauty of Alibaug and Konkan should be seen in the rains. When the rains start, green carpets are spread everywhere and water springs and waterfalls start flowing everywhere. Due to the hilly terrain in Alibaug area, there are many such scenic spots to visit. One such place is Kondi Falls near Beloshi village on Alibag Roha road. Of course, after enough rain only this waterfall starts and continues for the next 4 to 5 months.

Way to Kondi Waterfall –

On the Alibag Roha road, take a left from the Vave for about 3 to 4 km, and there is a side road leading to Kondi Falls. It usually takes about 20 to 30 minutes to walk from the borders of farm fields. Sowing of rice is going on in many fields here in the months of June and July. Some enthusiasts go down to the field for 2 minutes and enjoy the fun of sowing rice. It is a unique experience for urban tourists. The natural beauty of this place fascinates you so much that your mobile or DSLR is constantly taking pictures on this entire walk.

Further up a small hilly area, a cascading, bubbling, white waterfall comes into view. Surrounded by thick green trees and in the middle a waterfall cascading from a height of about 30 to 40 feet wide and 25 feet high. And its tremendous sound takes us to a different universe. Some local artists have painted pictures of various animals, birds and boats on the big rocks near the waterfall. These colorful pictures along with the white water flowing in the green surroundings are sure to catch the eye.

Seeing the white foaming water, I couldn’t resist the urge to get into the water. But proceed only after seeing the flow of water. As the waterfall is a bit far from the village, there are no food and drink facilities nearby. So it is better to carry some food with you, and please take care that there are no plastic bottles & any kind of waste left there. It is a bit difficult to come back from the scenic environment here. A little proximity to this place is a relief from the busy daily life in the city.
