Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary is a sanctuary in Raigad district spread over Roha and Murud talukas. The sanctuary is situated on an area of ​​about twelve and a half thousand acres. It was established around 1985 with the aim of maintaining the balance of nature near the coast. The sanctuary once served as the private hunting ground for Siddi Nawab Murud of the Janjira state. The Nawab constructed roads and water bodies within the forest.

Biodiversity –

The biodiversity found here attracts various nature lovers, photographers and bird watchers. With more than 160 species of birds, 17 species of wild animals, 27 species of snakes, 80-90 species of butterflies and more than 700 species of plants, this has become a unique attraction of the Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary.

Phansad Dam –

There is a dam inside Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary. During the monsoons, the dam fills up and flows through the embankment and many tourists come here to enjoy it. It is an earthen dam located between two nearby rivers. This supplies water to nearby villages.

The sanctuary is on the way to Murud near village Borli Mandla.The sanctuary is located at about 25-27 from Alibag.
